Green Tip

Reuse Your Rolls! With a few paper towel or toilet paper roll cores, and in a few steps, you can create the perfect seed starting container. Not only are they the right size for starting plants, the container breaks down when planted in the soil, minimizing the stress to the seedling's roots.
Here's How:
Step 1: Cut the toilet paper roll in half, set one down.
Step 2: Flatten the half roll, and and make four equally spaced cuts from the bottom to about 1/2 - 3/4" in.
Step 3: Open the role and it will have four tabs on the bottom. Take each tab and fold it down, overlapping one side of the next tab, as if you were closing a box . Tuck the end of the last flap under the first. Turn it over and you've got your container! Repeat with other half.
